Leonardo Del Casale is an Italian visual artist and 3D lighting artist working under the name DKZ. He works as an independent artist and freelance creative, developing projects across digital and audiovisual contexts. His work explores abstract digital aesthetics through light, motion, and form, treated as expressive languages rather than purely technical elements.
His practice is driven by a balance between control and unpredictability, where systems and experimentation converge. Through iterative exploration, he develops compositions that move between minimal structure and organic complexity.
Leonardo holds a degree in Computer Graphics Animation from the Istituto Europeo di Design (IED) in Rome, a background that shaped his understanding of light and rendering and later evolved through professional experience in the animation industry, contributing to series produced for platforms such as Netflix and Disney Junior. Over time, his focus has shifted toward more experimental and artistic directions, where technical precision meets a more intuitive and exploratory approach.
Through DKZ Visual, his work spans still images, motion, and audiovisual experiments, exploring the relationship between digital visuals, perception, and atmosphere.
